We're Ingrid and Lesley, founders of The Declutter Hub, and we are excited you're here.
We live, eat and breathe decluttering. In our eyes, the less clutter there is in people's homes, the better. And around the world that's facilitated by people like us and you!
We love the Professional Organising community and have been fully immersed in it for over 13 years.
We have both run our one-to-one businesses, The Clutter Fairy in North West England and Organise your House in South East London. And we now have our fantastic teams helping us serve our clients on a day-to day basis.
Ingrid was the President of the Association of Professional Declutterers and Organisers (APDO) for 4 years and Lesley worked alongside her on the Board as Head of Mentoring and Head of Website Development.
We co-wrote the APDO Starting a Professional Organising Business Course and delivered it for over 3 years to hundreds of organisers. We are so proud that it's still going strong today.
APDO is where we developed our friendship and a complementary approach to decluttering and organising. We enjoyed working and training together so much that we developed and launched The Declutter Hub to bring our emotions led approach to decluttering into the online world.
Fast forward 4 years and our online business goes from strength to strength. We host the Declutter Hub Podcast and have over a million downloads. Our membership has seen thousands of people through its doors and we have a highly engaged, inspirational facebook group with over 15,000 members.
Over the years we've learnt, made mistakes and grown. Then we've learnt, made mistakes and grown again. We have always maintained that a successful PO spends 50% of their time in the business and 50% on the business. And sometimes the balance is off.
We feel so privileged to be in this wonderful industry of people who want nothing more than the people they work with to live life happier and less stressed with a clutter free organised home. We're all in this together - one bin bag at a time!

Lesley & Ingrid each have over a decade of experience as professional organisers. They both run successful businesses, initially as individual Organisers, and now managing teams and supervising those Organisers to grow and develop. Thank you for a great Q&A earlier this week! It was really helpful and gave me a great boost. I’ve been working today on my SEO, sent links to clients asking (very nicely of course) for Google reviews, and am looking into opening a business bank account. All in all, today I’ve felt like I’m on fire and I think that’s largely thanks to our session this week!

DON't let excuses stand in your Way
Let go of those BUTs!
BUT I want to do client work not business stuff
It's not uncommon to feel as if you are the only PO that struggles with the business side of things. But if you want to follow your vocation and do more client work, you have to make a profit and to make a profit you need to discover what is going to turn the dial on your business.
BUT I WANT TO WORK LESS NOT MORE
Isn't that the dream? And it can be a reality but don't you want to nurture and build the business you are so passionate about? If you build your team around you, you can do less work but still reap the rewards long term. But it takes planning, thinking and action to get to a point where you are ready to hand over your 'baby' to someone else.
BUT I'M NOT THAT TECHNICAL
Outsource the things you loathe and focus on those things in the business that need you. You can ask someone to write your website and social media copy but it needs to be you and your voice that sits behind the messaging. The tough bit is working out the message and creating that authentic voice.
BUT i DON"T HAVE MONEY TO INVEST
It's tough to balance working as many hours as you can to bring in an income. But seeking help and advice from people who have a proven track record of success is a sensible way to grow and flourish. You need to make sure you have a business and not just a job. To facilitate that you will need help. Investing at the right time in the right place can be game changing.

Frequently Asked Questions
Do I get one-to-one help and support?
If you join the gold tier you will have two one-to-one calls with Ingrid or Lesley for 60 minutes each. You can still ask your personal questions in our Q&As but it will be in a group environment.
What's in your course library?
We have a course that covers every type of item in your home - all the rooms, garage, loft, basement and an extensive paperwork course that dives deep into exactly how to declutter and organise paperwork and also sentimental items. The members in our decluttering membership love the thorough but realistic nature of all the courses. In addition we have an ADHD Masterclass by ADHD Specialist Sarah Bickers.
You mention checklists - what's included?
We have checklists to accompany each of our courses that you can use for your own purpose.
What kind of Quick Wins do you have?
Our Quick Wins are categorised as guides, how-to's, mini-projects and show rounds in our homes too. There are over 70 of them.
How do the live Q&As work?
We will go live every month (except August and December) to chat through and advise you on any questions you may have about your business. Questions will be submitted via the chat. They will be hosted on Zoom live and be recorded and available on replay. We will aim for different times and different days so people have a chance to attend live.
How will the co-working work?
After each live Q&A session we will split off into breakout rooms to either brainstorm ideas with our fellow POs or work on a project.
I need to get more done in my business before I start to develop it.
If you are at the early stage in business we can really help you so you don't need to work things out alone. We can help you avoid costly mistakes and focus your attention on business practices that do work in the PO world.
I struggle to get motivated to work on my business. How will this change?
There's something so special about being with people with a similar goal. Our Q&As and co-working sessions are going to be action-focused sessions all designed to help you to take action.
I have kids so would struggle to watch the Q and As at specific times.
We try to vary the times of the Q&As to take into account timezones, bedtimes and working hours as much as we can and the beauty is you can replay them any time you like.
I'm not a member of APDO, can I still join?
Of course - we would love to help you grow your business wherever you are in the world and whatever stage in business you're at.
Which tier should I opt for?
If you are a fairly new organiser and just want to learn how to get started and be confident in delivering your services effectively our Course Library will help you do that in the bronze tier. If you are working on your business and want guidance and expertise, then our Q&As and co-working sessions are perfect for you in the silver tier but if you want personal bespoke support then gold's the one!
I see your prices are in pounds but I'm not in UK. How does that work?
If you want to get a more accurate feel for how much the fee is in your local currency, you can use this currency converter here. Your credit card or Paypal will do the conversion for you when you pay.
Do you cover hoarding in the programme?
Lesley has experience of working with clients with hoarding behaviours, so if a questions come up we'll be happy to answer it.
Can I upgrade from one tier to another?
You certainly can! You can upgrade any time by letting us know by email but it will always be more cost effective for you to get started in the right tier.
What if I need to cancel part way through the year?
Prosper is a 12 month programme so you will be committed to the full 12 months payments if you are using our payment plan. If there are extenuating circumstances, please do get in touch.
Is it worth me paying in full?
If you pay in full you will save approximately 2 months worth of payments.
Can I join at any point?
Yes the Prosper programme is a rolling programme so you can join at any point.
How long will it take for me to see results?
Rome wasn't built in a day as they say and making visible progress in your business is going to take time and determination.
I'm not in the UK. Is that going to be a problem?
Not at all. We will try to vary our Live Q & A call times so everyone has a chance to attend but they can always be listened to on replay at any time anyway.
