Episode 61 – Preparing your stuff for a building project

room with building work

In this podcast, we talk all about the preparation you need to do before, during and after a building project to manage the logistics of your things.

Whilst a building project is exciting, we often get carried away in the detail of the build and neglect the management of our stuff. It's important to prepare well to make sure your things can be moved around easily when needed and you can find what you need if then project overruns.

In this episode we discuss:

  • Work out the scale of the building project and the impact on your things.
  • Box and labels are critical.
  • Decluttering before a building project is desirable.
  • Don't overfill boxes so you can move them from room to room.
  • Always make sure you can easily get to important things if the project overruns.
  • Take the opportunity to precision plan wardrobes, kitchens and storage.
  • Rooms need to be completely empty to be carpeted.
